ALL WHO GO DO NOT RETURN by Shulem Deen (Graywolf Press)
We worked with author Shulem Deen and Footsteps to spread the word about ALL WHO GO DO NOT RETURN, Deen's National Jewish Book Award-winning memoir about losing his faith and being kicked out of his ultra-orthodox Hasidic community. They hired us to focus on Jewish media, radio, and New York-focused outlets. We lined up coverage in over 30 newspapers, TV shows, podcasts, and radio broadcasts around the country and world, helping to lead to six additional printings of the book in the first year. Our PR work went so well, in fact, that Graywolf Press kept us on the job after our initial contract was up.
Some highlights of our media outreach:
WNYC’s The Brian Lehrer Show: “Expelled for Heresy"
A 20-minute interview with New York’s beloved Brian Lehrer discussing the book and Deen’s Brooklyn upbringing
Times of Israel: "How a Formerly Hasidic Author Found Himself, Lost His Children"
This feature was syndicated by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency and appeared in countless publications around the world, immediately sending the book’s Amazon ranking up
